Normally it wouldn’t have bothered her. The waitress would’ve let this go. However, when she came home to find Regina trying not to fall apart, Ruby was damn sure she was going to make who ever hurt her love feel the pain thrice returned. After learning what happened she made sure that her lover was going to be okay before grabbing her black leather jacket, throwing it on over the red tank top and blue jeans she was wearing.
She had thrown her hair back into a pony tail and made her way over to where the sheriff was living with Mary. Growling, she couldn’t believe the nerve of Emma blaming everything bad on the woman she loved as she stomped her way up the stairs towards Mary Margaret’s apartment. The waitress prayed Mary wouldn’t be home not wanting to risk her friendship with the school teacher over this. Her feet finally carried her to the front door of the apartment and she knocked harshly waiting for a few seconds before roughly knocking again.
The door opened to reveal Emma Swan, glaring at her slightly. “Sweetheart, it’s gonna take a lot more than that to frighten me off.” She growled at the sheriff enter the apartment. Moving to the kitchen area she leaned against the counter, arms crossed and glaring back at the blond, not happy with her friend.
“Now, what the hell is it that you are blaming Regina for this time?” Ruby asked and awaited an answer.
Emma had just gotten into the apartment she shared with Mary Margret, sighing she looked around to see that she was either not home or still in her room. She frowned at the thought of her still being cooped up in her room over the issue she had had to deal with. Emma hated seeing her like this, but knew she was horrible at comforting others when they were upset. Sighing deeply she walked over to the stove and picked up the kettle and walked to the sink; filling it with water. After it seemed full enough she turned on the stove and left the water to heat up.
Emma walked over to the very few boxes she hadn’t unpacked yet and decided she would spend her time waiting on the water to unpack them. That was until there were a few harsh knocks at the door, causing her to raise her eyebrows and walk over with curiosity. Opening the door she was surprised in a way to see the red streaked hair waitress, waiting at the door with an angered look on her face. “Ruby?..” she questioned as the girl walked into the apartment causing her to move away from the door, she watched as she walked over to the counter. “I wasn’t trying to scare you off…what are you even going on about?” Emma questioned in a partly annoyed tone, she was sick of fingers being pointed at her every which way.
Walking over to the counter she stood on the opposite side of where Ruby now leaned and crossed her arms across her chest “Now Regina’s sending you after me? That woman really needs to lay off.” Emma let out an annoyed sigh and sifted her wait to her other leg “What are you talking about?”
Ruby narrowed her eyes at sheriff letting out an annoyed grunt. “No one sends me to do anything blondie. I came here after coming home to find the woman I love falling apart and it happens to be over something that your careless ass said. Now start talking.” The waitress ordered. Not getting answer she walked forward poking Emma hard in the chest. She wanted nothing more than punch the other woman for making her love cry but was barely able to hold herself in check as she spoke again.
“Answer me Emma, what the hell did you say to Regina to make her fall apart like that?” Ruby was friends with the sheriff but she wouldn’t stand by and watch someone tear down the mayor while she was around. She had nearly lost Regina once and she would do whatever it would take to defend and keep her from harm.
